The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized an 18-month extension to February 2006 for a facility to amend and implement its Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan. EPA's action follows a June 17 EPA proposal which would have extended the deadline by 12 months for compliance with the amendments to the SPCC rule, according to Fleet Focus, the e-mail newsletter for the National Association of Fleet Administrators. EPA has granted the extension to, among other reasons, provide sufficient time for the regulated community to undertake the actions necessary to prepare and update their plans in light of a recent partial settlement of litigation.
