Pre-paid cards that can be used in all parking meters in Culver City, Calif., became available May 24. The "Cash Keys" — plastic keys with computer chips embedded inside them — may be purchased in $20 to $100 amounts, said Joe Susca of the city's Public Works Department. The keys may be inserted into a slot next to the coin slot on any Culver City parking meter, Susca said. "In addition to purchasing time, the parking meter will simultaneously display the remaining dollar value left on your Cash Key each time it is inserted," Susca said.
