The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued in the May 21 Federal Register a performance-oriented, final rule stating the "Minimum Training Requirements for Entry-Level Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Operations," according to the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA). The regulation applies to all entry-level drivers who drive in interstate commerce and are subject to the CDL requirements, except drivers who are subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal Transit Administration. The rule is available at www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rulesregs/fmcsr/final/04-11475EntryLevel.htm.
