Wright Express announced on April 2 that it will upgrade its Internet-based account management tools to give fleet managers greater control over card use. Wright Express, a supplier of fleet cards and fleet card services, is using enhanced technology on its online product, WEXOnline, that will allow the company to send e-mail alerts to fleet managers when drivers make purchases outside parameters set by their company. Managers can now establish purchasing parameters based on criteria including dollars per day, dollars per transaction, total gallons per transaction, and fuel type. In addition to new purchase alerts, Wright Express has also improved several features giving some managers access to new or easier-to-use information and enhancing the driver page. The new purchase alerts will be available online to the company's private label and cobrand partners as well as fleets using its Wright Express Universal Card. The latest changes to the online product are enabled by upgrades to its technological infrastructure. The technology allows Wright Express to collect information at the pump and build more features into its internet-based applications.
