DaimlerChrysler Fleet Operations announced on January 23 that it is in the planning stage to launch its first-ever fleet advisory council, which will be comprised of 15 to 20 fleet managers. As of yet, an official name has not been designated for the advisory council. DaimlerChrysler envisions that the advisory council will meet in person three times per year and that membership will rotate among fleet managers. This was based on feedback that DaimlerChrysler received from a focus group held last September in Charlotte, NC, and a subsequent planning meeting in January with a small group of DaimlerChrysler fleet customers who met in Detroit. The inaugural fleet advisory council meeting is tentatively scheduled to be held in June, the day prior to DaimlerChrysler's 2005 fleet product preview.
