The national average price of gasoline (regular unleaded, incl. taxes) dropped more than a penny to $1.487 per gallon as of May 26, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). The average price of gas had dropped for eight straight weeks before rising less than a penny on May 19. The current average is more around seven cents below the EIA’s summer (April-Sept.) forecast of $1.56 per gallon.
