The national average price of gasoline (regular unleaded) was $1.57 per gallon as of April 21, according to price data released by the Energy Information Adminstration (EIA). The new data marks the fifth straight week the average price of gas has declined since hitting a 2003 high of $1.73 on March 17. The EIA, which is a statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Energy, has forecasted a summer (April-Sept.) national average of $1.56 per gallon.
