Bob Cargen, customer support services manager for ARI, announced that he will retire from ARI on Sept. 6, 2002, after 42 years of service. When Cargen first joined ARI, it had 35 employees and 6,000 vehicles on lease. He worked in five different offices (Pennsauken, Maple Shade, Manhattan, Boston, and Mt. Laurel), attended night school at Rutgers University on three campuses, leading to a bachelors degree, as he moved and transferred with ARI, and worked in four areas of the business (accounting, sales, operations, and customer support services). After his introduction to the company in operations, Cargen moved to New York as a sales administrator. After three years in the field he moved to accounting, rising to controller after a decade of professional growth. Cargen moved back to sales, in Boston, where he was regional manager for eight years. Returning to New Jersey, he became operations manager. About three years ago, Cargen became customer support services manager. Going into retirement, Cargen and his wife Eileen expect to return to New England, where their daughters and their husbands and grandchildren still reside.
