General Motors announced July 1 that, although it will be removing some features from its cars, it will continue to supply and even add to the current features offered on its 2003-MY full-sized trucks.
GM said that because of the growing popularity of trucks, it will be loading more than 40 features onto its biggest light trucks for the 2003-model year. GM says this equipment will include:
-- Dual-zone climate control in pickups, and a three-zone system in extended cabs and sport utilities.
-- Dual-stage airbags.
-- Sensors that deactivate the passenger seat airbag if the seat is occupied by a small adult, child, or infant seat.
-- Heated, power-folding exterior mirrors with turn signal indicators.
GM also said that full-sized trucks will be receiving front-end makeovers, new seats, new instrument panels, upgraded sound systems, and advanced wiring.
