Mark Miller, a Cendant Corp. executive, has been named president and chief operating officer of Equifax Inc., an Atlanta-based information management and technology company. Millier was head of Galileo International, Cendant's electronic global distribution services subsidiary. The 42-year-old executive will lead Equifax's day-to-day operations, with the heads of North America, Latin America, Europe, Direct to Consumer and Technology reporting to him. In addition to his role at Galileo International, Miller is former president and COO of Cendant's Travel Division, overseeing hotel brands such as Days Inn and Ramada. He is also a former president and COO of Avis Rent A Car; former president and CEO of PHH Arval, a vehicle management company; and former president and CEO of Wright Express, the largest provider of corporate fuel card services. Miller also is former president of GE Capital Financial, a part of GE Capital Services. Sam Katz, Cendant's chief strategic officer, chairman and CEO of the Travel Division, and chairman of Galileo, will serve as Galileo's interim CEO while the company recruits a new CEO.
