Integrated Decision Support Corp. (IDSC) in Richardson launched its online fuel optimization program, FuelAdvice.com, early in June 2002. The service allows fleets to create a truck stop network built to optimize price and to compare competing offers from other truck stops. The software provider eventually plans to make its tools for analyzing bids, consolidating loads, swapping trailers, and assigning tractors available in the ASP format, said Ben Murphy, IDSC vice president and general manager. An Internet-based service from EFS Transportation Services called EFS Online is available to the company's fuel card customers on a subscription basis, and according to the company, small and large carriers can use it.
