NEW YORK, NY – Fenway Partners, a middle-market private equity firm, has partnered with RoadLink’s senior management team and acquired RoadLink USA, Inc., a national, independent, intermodal trucking service provider. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

With a network of 50 service locations from coast-to-coast and the combined capacity of 1,500 trucks, RoadLink USA is the largest independent intermodal trucking service provider in North America. Intermodal transportation involves moving freight in shipping containers and trailers using more than one mode of transportation (steamship, rail, and truck). RoadLink moves containers or trailers from/to the customer to/from the rail yard or the port, providing an integral and highly efficient link in the flow of goods from manufacturer to the end-customer. The company’s primary customers are ocean container ship lines, intermodal marketing companies, transportation logistics firms, railroads, and large national and multinational shippers.

Fenway acquired RoadLink USA through its most recent private equity fund, Fenway Partners Capital Fund III. The acquisition represents the first investment by this fund, and Fenway’s 14th investment overall in the transportation and logistics sector.

John Anderson, Fenway Partners’ transportation and logistics operating affiliate, will become chairman of RoadLink USA.
