LOS ANGELES — Southern California employees of Enterprise Rent-A-Car have broke the $2.8 million mark with their pledges to the United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ 2004-2005 campaign. Included in that figure are pledges by nearly 800 employees, or leadership donors, giving $1,000 or more — the most leadership donors from a single organization in United Way of Greater Los An-geles history. Enterprise employees working in the Greater Los Angeles area raised more than $1.8 million of the Southern California total — the result of a nearly 85 percent participation rate among the division’s 2,585 full-time employees. As a result of continuing employee participation, the company has raised more than $2 million in pledges for the past three years. This effort places Enterprise among the United Way’s Spirit of Los Angeles corporate givers for the fifth consecutive year. Enterprise also received the Leadership Award for the fifth consecutive year. The Southern California figure includes an Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation contribution of 50 cents on every dollar employees pledged. The foundation is the charitable arm of St. Louis-based Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
