DETROIT — Effective Jan. 1, 2005, David Dunahay, marketing director medium duty trucks, GM Fleet and Commercial Operations, will assume the position of general director, Isuzu Liaison Office, reporting to Basil Drossos, executive vice president and representative director, Isuzu and Jay Hunt, president & representative director, GMAP Japan. “In his new capacity, David will be fostering the development of the alliance between GM and Isuzu, and GM´s other partners in Asia Pacific by facilitating the development and implementation of region-specific and global joint activities,” said John Gaydash, marketing director for GM Fleet and Commercial Operations. “David will be the focal and primary point of contact between GM and Isuzu on all operational issues.” Dunahay began his career at GM in June 1985 in CPC, based in Warren, MI. After four years in CPC, he was transferred to Adam Opel AG in 1989 and was responsible for parts and accessory sales and marketing. After a four-year assignment in Germany, Dunahay was transferred to Japan in 1994. Until 1998, he worked as general director Opel Japan responsible for Opel business in Japan. In 1998 he was transferred to Kenya and worked as managing director. After three-and-a-half years in Kenya, Dunahay transferred to Detroit into his current position. Replacing Dunahay within GM Fleet and Commercial Operations will be Ross Hendrix, who will also continue his current marketing responsibilities for commercial vans.
