STAMFORD, CT – Gartner, Inc. announced the winners of its sixth CRM Excellence Awards. GE Commercial Finance, Fleet Services was selected in the large-enterprise category and Pitt Ohio Express was selected in the small-to-midsize-enterprise category. During Gartner´s CRM Summit 2004, which was held October 4-6 in Scottsdale, Arizona, six finalists chosen out of nearly 50 entrants presented their case studies to attendees, who participated in selecting the winner of this year´s awards. The award is given to an enterprise in each of two categories that demonstrates excellence in CRM initiatives and illustrates a specific end-user implementation and benefits of CRM. "The experiences shared by these finalists will help companies shorten the gap between the idea and execution of successful CRM," said Adam Sarner, principal research analyst for Gartner. "The winners were chosen on their ability to demonstrate competence in all of Gartner´s eight building blocks of CRM." Gartner defines the eight building blocks of CRM include: vision, strategy, processes, organizational collaboration, deployment of CRM technology, transformation of data to applied insight, ability to enhance customer experience and the use of customer-centric metrics. This annual award, organized this year in collaboration with CRM Magazine, recognizes outstanding CRM initiatives from end-user enterprises from all over the world. The criteria used in evaluating CRM Excellence Award candidates included components outlined in the Gartner Research Note titled, "The Eight Building Blocks of CRM."
