LeasePlan USA announced on August 16 that it has enhanced the capabilities of its ePlan online fleet management tool to include repair authorizations and motor vehicle record (MVR) checks, allowing clients to manage their fleet and get drivers back on the road quickly. With the new repair authorization feature, clients have the ability to authorize and deny mechanical and/or incident repairs directly in ePlan. A comment area allows clients to attach comments or explanations to approvals and denials. The new service allows users to follow up on repairs, whether related to maintenance, collision, rentals or glass, without having to pick up the phone. In addition to repair authorizations, clients also have the ability to request MVR checks via ePlan. Once the MVR is entered in ePlan by the client, the information is validated and passed along to the relevant state for processing. When processed electronically, the MVR image is available online in ePlan and as a paper copy. ePlan allows customers to access imaged documents in real-time and download them in PDF format if necessary. The program gives customers the ability to perform ordering, selling, manage drivers, and gather reports by accessing the information via the Internet. Customers no longer have to maintain stacks of paperwork for each vehicle, saving them storage costs.
