To help keep the supply chain and essential businesses — including grocery stores and medical facilities — connected, Mercedes-Benz Vans has programs in place to assist fleet customers, dealers, and fleet management companies (FMCs) during the COVID-19 pandemic

These initiatives are aimed to support Mercedes-Benz Vans customers directly and the organizations delivering products to the public and medical establishments.

Corporate Citizenship

These initiatives — themselves an act of corporate citizenship — touch on every type of ownership, operational, and financial imperative that impact fleets and organizations in need of vehicles during this time of crisis. More to the point, they are designed to keep these organizations focused on their operations and most pressing needs, whether that is their employees, customers, or the community at large.

Enhanced Existing Members Program

Mercedes-Benz Vans has expanded its existing members program by offering attractive discounts to organizations that operate franchise operations supporting the current increased home delivery demands, such as parcel delivery, food distributors, and restaurants. The program is also extended to any organizations that specifically support the increased demands for healthcare, including healthcare providers and independent ambulance organizations.

Additional FMC Incentives

For FMCs, Mercedes-Benz Vans has proactively provided transparency to the available stock of its van inventory. Additional incentives are also being provided to FMCs as an added measure to support fleet clients that have been affected by COVID-19.

Generous Repayment Options

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services* is also playing its part to support existing and prospective commercial van customers, by offering a 90 Day First Payment Deferral Program on 2019 Sprinter and 2019 and 2020 Metris models for qualified Commercial Van customers on qualifying finance and lease contracts with a maximum 60 month finance term, subject to credit approval, at participating dealers through April 30, 2020.

In addition, to help weather the financial storm caused by the COVID-19-generated business disruptions, some customers may qualify for a 1-Month Payment Credit Program of up to $2,000  on select new 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Vans and new 2019 and 2020 Mercedes-Benz Metris Vans when financed or leased through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services*.

Whether they’re existing or prospective customers, these measures have been taken to help ensure that fleets and other essential businesses and organizations have access to available Mercedes-Benz Vans inventory, and that dealer partners are supported throughout the duration of the pandemic.

Global-Level Initiatives

But Mercedes-Benz’s corporate humanitarian commitment goes beyond providing an essential vehicle at a critical time. It has begun producing medical components at its Stuttgart, Germany, manufacturing plant. With the help of 3D printers, the plant can produce up to 150,000 plastic and metal components for medical purposes.

And the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team is working with other F1 teams in the UK as part of “Project Pitlane” to fabricate and deliver CPAP machines—which have been shown to help COVID-19 patients with breathing difficulties and leverages scant ventilator supplies — to NHS health facilities.

But, fundamentally, it’s with better access to these vehicles that Mercedes-Benz Vans will provide some of its most valuable assistance to the U.S. public.

In this time of crisis, Mercedes-Benz Vans provides a range of vehicle options that have built the kind of reputation necessary to serve — with a highly competitive total cost of operation, strong reliability, and a well-established safety profile — as a tool for first responders and other essential workers.

Participating Mercedes-Benz Vans dealers are available to serve its clients, while continuing their efforts to follow COVID-19 guidelines to help keep personnel and customers safe and healthy. In addition, participating dealerships have virtual operations in place for their customers, to help ensure a quality customer experience, and offering both remote and virtual services to help customers maintain vehicles in optimal condition as they are used to meet the crisis head on.
