NAFA’s Nominating Committee has named Sonya Girard, fleet manager and project specialist for IDEXX, to its board of directors, succeeding industry veteran Steven Saltzgiver, CAFS, Mercury Associates.

Girard has been with IDEXX, a pet healthcare company, since 1995, and her term on the Board of Directors will begin on February 20, 2020, according to NAFA.

Saltzgiver’s extensive career in fleet includes having served as board liaison to the association's committees, presented at NAFA's I&E, and recently served as a speaker for NAFA's Department of Transportation Compliance Webinar Series.

“To me, joining the Board is about having the opportunity to provide strategic and innovative insights that will help drive positive change and forward progress for fleet managers across North America,” said Girard.

Girard was also named as Automotive Fleet’s Fleet Visionary of the Year winner in 2017. The award, sponsored by Merchants Fleet Management, is designed to recognize and celebrate new voices in fleet management
