Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling almost 100,000 Ram ProMaster full-size vans because certain fan motors in the vehicles may overheat and cause a fire, the company has announced.

The recall affects 99,128 ProMaster vans from the 2015 to 2018 model-years in the U.S. There are also 8,025 affected vans in Canada and 2,249 in Mexico.

If the cooling fans stop working, their corresponding fuses may not protect them from overheating. If this happens, a warning light would illuminate and the situation poses a fire risk.

Owners of the vehicles will be notified when service becomes available. If the warning lights come up, the engines of the vans should be shut off. The owners should contact their dealers.
