Ford has doubled the computing power of its SYNC communication and entertainment system.

Ford has previewed its next-generation SYNC 4 communications and entertainment system that doubles the computing power of SYNC 3 to improve the speed of navigation, music, and connected smartphones, Ford has announced.

New cloud connectivity enables conversational voice recognition for internet search results. The system can run on a variey of new touchscreen displays from 8 inches to 15.5 inches.

SYNC 4 also offers cord-free Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with compatibility for the built-in AppLink system.

The system also has machine learning capability that helps remember user preferences and offer better suggestions based on previous usage, according to Ford.
