On Oct. 8, J.D. Power & Associates announced their annual Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) survey results. Ford Motor Co. says it made improvements overall and on a brand-by-brand basis. According to the company, nearly all of Ford brands reflect improvement when compared with last year's scores, and five vehicles earned segment awards, making Ford Motor Company the most award-winning manufacturer in the industry. In addition, two brands ranked among the industry's top 10 (Volvo and Lincoln), and two cars (Lincoln Town Car and Ford Thunderbird), as well as two trucks (Lincoln Navigator and Ford Excursion), ranked among the industry's top 10. The five Ford segment award winners include: Ford Crown Victoria (Full-Size Car segment), Ford Thunderbird (Entry Luxury Car segment), Lincoln Town Car (Mid Luxury Car segment), Ford Explorer Sport Trac (Compact Pickup segment), Ford Excursion (Full-Size SUV segment). In addition, three other vehicles - Mercury Grand Marquis, Mercury Mountaineer and Ford E-Series - finished among the top three in their respective segments.
