Mazda North American Operations is recalling approximately 22,571 2019 Mazda3 vehicles equipped with manual dimming mirrors because the adhesive between the interior rearview mirror and the housing may not be properly bonded. This means the mirror can detach from the housing.

Without the rearview mirror, rearward visibility will be reduced which increases the chances of a collision.

To remedy the matter, Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the interior rearview mirror assembly, at no cost to owners.

The automaker notes that vehicles equipped with auto dimming mirrors are not affected by this recall.

The recall begins August 30. Owners may reach Mazda customer service at (800) 222-5500, option 4. Mazda's reference number for this recall is 3919G.
