Sales for commercial vehicles continued to slide in July, though declines were not as significant as the month prior.
While sales of light- and heavy-commercial vehicles were down by 27.7% and 36.1%, respectively, June saw a heavier decline in percentages, according to data from Asociacion de Concesionarios de Automotores de la Republica Argentina (ACARA). However, overall, vehicle sales were down 26.4% in July, year over year, and were also down by 47.4%, year to date.
Leading the way in sales in July, despite the overall industry declines, was Toyota with 7,762 vehicles sold, according to ACARA. Toyota was the only manufacturer that saw a year-over-year increase. Behind Toyota was Volkswagen, which saw 6,701 vehicles sold, but was down 33.3%, year over year. In No. 3 was Renault which sold 6,398 in July, but was also down, year over year, by 30.6%
