Truck registrations were also up significantly when comparing May 2019 to the same time last year, up by 62.2%.

Registrations of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) in Brazil were up 15.6% in May, when compared to the same time last year, and were also up by 9.9%. year-to-date.

The Fiat Strada was the best-selling LCV in May with 7,136 sales, followed by the Fiat Toro with 5,853 sales, according to the Associacao Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veiculos Automotores (ANFAVEA). Following this was the Volkswagen Saveiro with 3,687 sales, Toyota Hilux with 3,675 sales, and the Chevrolet S10 with 2,997 sales.

Truck registrations were also up significantly when comparing May 2019 to the same time last year, up by 62.2%. Registrations for this segment were also up, year-to-date, up 48.5%.

When broken down by fuel type, sales of flexible-fuel vehicles were up 21.6%, year-over-year, and diesel vehicles were up 21.5% from a year ago. Hybrid and electric vehicles increased 18.2% to 357 units, while, gasoline vehicles decreased 16% to 6,196 units.
