Commercial vehicle sales in China were down 11.8% year over year, and vehicle sales were down 16.4% overall.

Commercial vehicle sales in the country were also down 13%, reflecting 351,000 units, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Meanwhile, commercial vehicle production was also down: 8.8% month over month and down 8.5% year over year.

Overall, year-to-date production and sales from January to May continued to decline at rates higher than that from January to April, according to the report.

Exports of commercial vehicles in China were also down month over month and year over year, the report found.

Meanwhile, alt-fuel vehicles saw growth on the month: production reached 112,000 units, an increase of 16.9% year-over-year, while sales reached 104,000 units, and this is an increase of 1.8% year-over-year.
