BMW of North America, LLC is recalling an estimated 1,822 2019 X7 xDrive40i and X7 xDrive50i vehicles because the driver and passenger head air bags may not have been properly aligned with the trim during installation.

This scenario means that the head air bags may be impaired during deployment, which increases the likelihood of injury.

To fix the problem, BMW will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if needed, reinstall the head air bags, at no cost to owners.

The recall begins July 15. Owners can reach BMW customer service at (800) 525-7417.
