Ford Motor Co. is recalling an estimated 2,106 2019 Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid midsize sedans because they may not adequately protect against direct and indirect contact of high voltage sources during normal operation.

Any potential contact with high voltage sources increases the likelihood of injury.

To fix the problem, Ford will notify owners, and dealers will install a Bus Electrical Center (BEC) cover over the high voltage fuses at no cost to owners.

The recall begins April 1. Owners can reach Ford customer service at (866) 436-7332. Ford's reference number for this recall is 19C05.
