Fleet registrations in Spain grew by 6.1% in December 2018 when compared to the previous year, and also posted a 10% growth for the entirety of 2018.

Spain's fleet market managed this despite a 3.3% drop in the overall automotive market in December, due in part to private registrations being down 10%.

Leading fleet registrations in the country for December was Volkswagen, which posted a 34.4% growth, according to Dataforce. This was followed by BMW, which saw a 59.4% growth, which resulted in the automaker's highest market share since February 2013, and was driven on the strength of BMW's X Series.

Meanwhile, rounding out the top five, Renault placed in the No. 3 spot, which was followed by SEAT in fourth and Peugeot in fifth.

Breaking it down by segment, the market share for medium-sized passenger cars reached its lowest point, despite having once been the second-best segment in 2013.
