The top three auto manufacturers in terms of German fleet registrations for December were Volkswagen, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.

True fleet registrations in Germany declined 3.5% in December, continuing a several month decline, though the drop was lower than what was reported in the previous three months.

The top three auto manufacturers in terms of German fleet registrations for December were Volkswagen, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, according to Dataforce. These three companies also held the first, second, and third place slot, respectively, the month prior. Volkswagen had a notably strong December, posting a 12.9% growth.

Rounding out the fourth and fifth place spots were Audi and Ford, respectively. Ford saw a 18% growth in December, according to Dataforce.

In terms of popular fuel types in the month of December, petrol was down 9.7% and diesel increased slightly by 1.7%, according to Dataforce. However, for alt-fuel vehicles, hybrids were down 11.8%, and battery-electric vehicles declined 28.1%.

Despite this, several EVs performed well, including Renault's Zoe, which increased its volume by 50.6%, which helped the automaker secure the No.1 spot in terms of EV rankings, beating BMW's i3.
