For the third year in a row — and fourth overall — Toyota has earned Kelley Blue Book's overall Best Resale Value Award for mainstream brand, KBB announced.

Porsche also earned its third consecutive win for the Best Resale Value Award for luxury brands.

These awards are based on the projected values for vehicles in average condition with 75,000 miles at the end of a five-year lease or ownership period.

The vehicles that win a KBB Best Resale Value Award are projected to retain more than 50% of its MSRP after five years compared to the 39% that most vehicles retain after five years.

The Toyota Tacoma, for example, is projected to retain 62% of its MSRP after five years.

Other winners in notable vehicle segments include the Subaru Crosstrek, which earned KBB's 2019 Best Resale Value Award for compact SUV/crossovers; the Toyota Tundra for the full-size pickup segment; the Chevrolet Silverado HD for the heavy duty full-size pickup segment, and the Subaru Legacy for the midsize car segment.
