Chevrolet has introduced the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu to the South Korea market, which includes a 1.3L, three-cylinder turbocharged engine.

The Malibu received a midcycle refresh for the new model year and is also available with a 1.6L diesel engine and 2.0L turbo engine, according to the automaker. The 1.3L E-Turbo engine is available with a VT40 CVT transmission, boasts 156 hp and 174 lb.-ft. of torque, and has a fuel economy of 33.4 mpg in combined driving.

The new 1.3L engine replaced the 1.5L, which is still featured on the Malibu sold in China and North America, according to GM Authority

The new Malibu is now equipped with 10 airbags, which includes newly added front-seat knee air bags as well as driver and passenger air bags, left and right curtain air bags, and first- and second-row side air bags, the automaker said.

Other available active safety features include front collision warning; low- and high-speed automatic emergency braking; lane departure alert; lane keep assist; blind spot alert; front pedestrian detection and braking; rear cross traffic alert; intelligent adaptive cruise control; and smart high beam.
