Hyundai's new flagship utility vehicle will be the 2020 Palisade, and it will go on sale in the summer of 2019, following its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month, the automaker has announced.

The Palisade derrives its name from Pacific Palisades, an affluent Southern California ocean-front community near Malibu. Hyundai will show the initial vehicle on Nov. 28 during the AutoMobility LA press event.

The 2020 Palisade will offer three rows of seating for eight passengers and offer premium materials as well as a "reassuring level of high-tech, intelligent safety features," Hyundai announced Nov. 8.
