Mazda is offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a dealer-installed upgrade for its flagship 2018 Mazda6 midsize sedan this September at no extra cost, the automaker has announced.

The smartphone connectivity platforms will be available of the Touring trim and above. Users can access the feature through the Mazda Connect infotainment system. The hardware and update takes about two service hours to perform.

Owners will also receive a more powerful, faster-charging 2.1-amp USB port and the latest version of Mazda Connect. The Mazda6 is the first Mazda vehicle to offer the smartphone connectivity systems.
