The Hertz Corporation and its fleet management subsidiary, Donlen, will manage a fleet of autonomous vehicles operated by mobility technology company Aptiv, Hertz has announced.

Hertz will assist with the operations and management of Aptiv's autonomous vehicles in Las Vegas. Aptiv's has picked Las Vegas for its initial North American commercial deployment of autonomous vehicles.

The two companies will execute a phased approach to develop standard operating procedures for mobility-related AV fleets. The initial program, scheduled to launch this fall, will further enhance and guide the implementation of similar programs in future markets.

Hertz and Donlen now manage more than 1 million vehicles in car rental and commercial fleets.
