Audi's fourth-generation 2019 A8 luxury sedan will arrive in the fall with an array of cutting-edge driver-assisting and connectivity features including predictive suspension, revamped infotainment system with two stacked touch screens, and a laser scanner, Audi has announced.
The 2019 A8's technology and connectivity features include a new MMI Touch Response infotainment system with an upper 10.3-inch screen and lower 8.6-inch lower screen; voice commands that recognize more natural language; a HERE-powered map and navigation system that learns drive routes to provide smarter routing suggestions; myAudi app to remotely control geo-fencing and destination entry; second-generation Virtual Cockpit with faster processing speeds; a full-color head-up display; Apply CarPlay and Android Auto; and an available 23-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Drive assisting features include the semi-autonomous Adaptive Cruise Assist system that adds acceleration, braking, and steering help at low speeds in a traffic jam; an intersection warning and braking system; predictive active suspension that can raise the chassis by 3.1 inches in a half second in a potential collision; Pre Sense 360 that can activate automatic emergency braking; Emergency Assist that places an SOS call for an unresponsive driver; 360-degree 3D image for parking and maneuvering at low speeds; and a feature that delays the opening of a door if the vehicle detects an approaching vehicle or bicycle.
In the interior, Audi's 2019 A8 will offer standard features such as 18-way power front seats, a power tilt and telescopic steering column, Valetta Leather interior, and black glass touch control buttons with haptic feedback.
