Lada and Toyota continue to be the best-performing OEMs in the region, jointly representing a quarter of the market. Kia claimed the No. 3 position, followed with Volkswagen in 4th.

Dacia and Hyundai claimed the No. 5 and 6 spots, respectively, thanks to a double-digit growth during the first quarter for both OEMs.

UAZ, Škoda, Mercedes, and BMW round out the top 10 for the Russian market.

The list of top 10 models for the True Fleet market in Russia indicate the difference in vehicle preference between fleets and private buyers, according to Dataforce. The Lada Largus and Toyota Camry, which ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in True Fleet registrations did not even make the top 10 in the private market.

First quarter fleet registrations for cars equipped with diesel engines grew 28.9% in the Russian market, making the market share of diesel vehicles the highest it’s been in Russia since 2012, according to Dataforce data.

Although 17.7% diesel share is high for Russia, that figure is still far below any other European country.
