The True Fleet Market in the U.K. posted 0.2% growth in May, marking the second consecutive month of growth for a region that had previously experienced 13 months without growth, according to a report from Dataforce.

The true fleet market includes all registrations to companies excluding certain categories such as short-term rentals and demo vehicles.

Of the top 10 best-performing brands in the region, four experienced a rise in registrations.

Spanish OEM SEAT experienced the biggest growth, growing its registrations in the U.K. by 56.2% through May. This strong performance was attributed to the performance of its new Arona SUV and Leon compact car.

Volkswagen also experienced a healthy 15.6% boost in registrations, driven in large part by its Golf, Tiguan, and T-Roc models.

In terms of vehicle segment performance, the Nissan Qashqai claimed the No.1 spot in terms of vehicle registrations during May. The new generation Ford Focus climbed its way from its previous rank of No. 11 to the No. 2 spot. The Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Tiguan, and SEAT Leon closed out the top five best-performing vehicles.

Looking at market share, the SUV segment continues to grow its presence, accounting for 39.6% of true fleet registrations in May. The compact car segment, according to Dataforce, is continuing to stabilize its market share. Hybrid vehicle market share also continues to grow, as the segment’s 7.6% market share in May represented an all-time high for the segment.
