The 2018 Lincoln Navigator luxury SUV has garnered a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Lincoln has announced. The rating is the highest the agency gives.

The full-size SUV was the only vehicle in its class to capture the highest overall vehicle score in the agency’s New Car Assessment Program that performs crash tests and other evaluations.

The Navigator features a lightweight aluminum body, a fully boxed steel frame, dual pyrotechnic pretensioners in front seat belts and driver-assist technologies, which helped the vehicle achieve the rating.

In addition, the Navigator’s driver-assist technologies contributed to the rating. Features include Blind Spot Information System, a lane keeping system, enhanced active park assist, auto high beams, a 360-degree camera, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.
