The 2018 Genesis G80 Sport sedan has earned a Five Stars Overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), following tests in frontal crash, side crash and rollover scenarios.

To bring home NHTSA's highest safety award, a car must excel across the board in the evaluation. The G80 Sport secured top marks in front driver-side and passenger-side protection, side barrier and pole impact, and rollover mitigation.

Advanced features available on the G80 Sports include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, Smart Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross-traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Alert, and Dynamic Bending Light with High Beam Assist.

In previous NHTSA testing, the G80 sedan also received five-star honors. In 2017, the G80 and the flagship G90 sedans captured Top Safety Pick+ designations from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
