The Highway Loss Data Institute recently identified the top 10 vehicle models with the lowest overall collision losses, and large pickups captured four of the spots on the list.

The study included vehicles in the 2014-2016 model years. Cargo vans, however, were excluded. HLDI analyzed insurance industry data to compile the list.

When vehicles priced at $30,000 and over are excluded, the top 10 list of vehicles with the lowest overall losses includes the Smart ForTwo electric, Jeep Wrangler 2-door SWB 4WD, Subaru Outback 4WD with EyeSight, Subaru Outback 4WD, GMC Canyon extended cab, Ram 1500 LWB, Volkswagen Golf electric, Jeep Wrangler 4-door 4WD, Ford F-150 and Mazda CX-5 4-door.
