Fresh off the assembly line, Volkswagen’s new electric Golf models were a highlight of the 2014-MY fleet preview.

Electric, gasoline, diesel. The more than 100 fleet professionals who attended the 2014-MY Volkswagen Fleet Preview at the Las Vegas Mirage Hotel May 1-3 learned that all these fuel and power options were available to their fleets. Among the vehicles highlighted during the two-day event was the all-new, all-electric VW Golf in addition to the Jetta and Passat.

The event’s theme, “Moving Your Business Forward,” was reflected in presentations by VW senior leadership, who highlighted the company’s advanced powertrains for attendees. Fleet managers were also treated to an assessment of the automotive market by Edmunds.com.

The fleet managers had the chance to test the VW powertrains firsthand at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where they put pedal to the metal on the track and off. Attendees were also able to test the vehicles’ endurance and had an opportunity to do so on an off-road track designed to put the vehicles through their paces, testing the models’ durability in a variety of tough conditions.

The attendees also had a chance to enjoy the Vegas nightlife by taking in a show, Cirque Du Soleil’s tribute to the Beatles, Love, which, appropriately enough, featured a Volkswagen Beetle model as an integral part of the show.
