James W. Dodds of Fleet Leasing of America and Morris Glesby, of Leasing Associates Inc. were elected to the board of directors. Reelected a director was William F. Paetzhold of American Leasing Corp. No other directors were up for reelection.
Speakers at the convention included Sam Lee, West-Coast fleet management consultant, Jess Raban, AALA counsel and Robert Gros, vice president of Pacific Gas & Electric Co.
The delegates heard a detailed report on operational costs in leasing. The report was prepared from a questionnaire sent to all AALA members and clearly demonstrated the value of association membership with the presentation of the breakdowns covering yearly operational costs incurred in depreciation, insurance (self-insurance vs. full insurance), maintenance, and glass breakage. Each member was able to compare his own costs with those other individually reported as well as with the industry total.
