Hubert Ryan, vice president of the car leasing division of Hertz Corp., was reelected president of the American Automotive Leasing Assn. at the group's recent convention in Palm Springs, Calif.

All other officers were also reelected. They include Armund Schoen, Wheels Inc., board chairman; John B. White, Business Fleets Inc., vice president; A. R. Neuber, Automotive Rentals Inc., vice president; John Rollins, Rollins Leasing, vice president; and Nathan Paul, Executive Auto Leasing Co., treasurer. David S. Brockman, of Feld Operating Service, was renamed honorary board chairman.

James W. Dodds of Fleet Leasing of America and Morris Glesby, of Leasing Associates Inc. were elected to the board of directors. Reelected a director was William F. Paetzhold of American Leasing Corp. No other directors were up for reelection.

Speakers at the convention included Sam Lee, West-Coast fleet management consultant, Jess Raban, AALA counsel and Robert Gros, vice president of Pacific Gas & Electric Co.

The delegates heard a detailed report on operational costs in leasing. The report was prepared from a questionnaire sent to all AALA members and clearly demonstrated the value of association membership with the presentation of the breakdowns covering yearly operational costs incurred in depreciation, insurance (self-insurance vs. full insurance), maintenance, and glass breakage. Each member was able to compare his own costs with those other individually reported as well as with the industry total.
