Practically speaking, with fuel costs on the rise, going green just makes more cents. The 2011 Green Fleet Conference (GFC), scheduled Oct. 3-4 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas, is set to provide a resource for fleet professionals to learn to save money, increase efficiency, and stay up-to-date with eco-friendly peers.

The two-day conference is dedicated to car and truck fleet professionals and is comprised of four components:

Education: two full days of keynote presentations, workshops, seminars, and panel discussions personalized for fleet professionals to integrate environmentally friendly components into their operations. Sessions are broken out into corporate and government tracks to address specific challenges facing each sector.

Exhibits: Providing fleets with a “brick and motor” marketplace, the 2011 GFC will have an expanded exhibit hall stocked with the latest products and services.

Ride & drive event: For the second year, fleet managers at the GFC will have the chance to test drive “green” vehicles and see the new technology in action.

Networking: The GFC is designed to facilitate dialogue, both in sessions and a more informal setting. Special time is set aside for networking, giving fleet managers the opportunity to make new contacts, build strategic alliances, bounce ideas off peers, and connect with old friends.

The 2011 Environmental Leadership Awards will also be presented at the conference, recognizing both commercial and public sector fleet professionals for leading efforts in reducing emissions, implementing alternative-fuel technologies, and performing additional “greening” efforts.

This can’t-miss event promises to help fleet managers stay on the cutting edge of green technology, eco-friendly operations.

For more information or to register, visit www.greenfleetconference.com. The advanced registration discount of $100 is available until Sept. 9.

The 2011 Green Fleet Conference will include:

  • Networking opportunities and award and recognition events.

Attendees Praise the Green Fleet Conference

“As a new car dealer committed to fleet, it is critical to be aware of the green alternatives available to our fleet customers. Attending the Green Fleet Conference provided the ‘must-have’ exposure to what alternatives are being implemented and the process involved in introducing them.”

“Having the opportunity to hear and speak with top fleet managers from across the nation proved that there are so many ways to make a difference. Learning what others have done to reduce emissions even while challenged with budget shortages goes beyond inspirational and borders on glimpsing the future. What an exciting time to be in the transportation industry.”

  • Handouts will be limited and flash drives of presentations made available.
  • All meals will be served with china and silverware to reduce use of conventional disposable materials, such as paper and Styrofoam.
  • Recycling services will be available during the event.
