DaimlerChrysler Fleet Operations held its 2008 Fleet Preview in San Antonio, May 21-24. The preview was attended by more than 500 fleet customers.

 

A ride-and-drive to test-drive new models was available for fleet managers. Among the models test driven were the Avenger, Charger, Sebring, and Grand Cherokee Diesel. On the truck side,fleet managers had an opportunity to test the towing and hauling capabilities of the 2008 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 Heavy Duty Chassis Cabs.

Mercedes-Benz Fleet Operations also previewed its new 2008 models at the San Antonio fleet event. Available for test drives were the S-Class, CL-Class, E-Class models, and C-Class. In addition, Mercedes-Benz had a hydrogen fuel-cell car available for test drives. In the evening, fleet managers attended a rodeo at the Cowboy’s Dance Hall.

Among the new models revealed to fleet customers were the 2008 Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & County minivans. They offer two new powertrains, a 3.8L and a 4.0L V-6 coupled to a new 6-speed automatic transmission. A flex-fuel-capable 3.3L V-6 is also offered. Dodge also offers the cargo version of the Grand Caravan.
The 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 Heavy Duty Chassis Cab demonstrated its towing capabilities.
The all-new 2008 Dodge Ram 5500 Heavy Duty Chassis Cab was put through is paces at the fleet preview’s Commercial Truck Drive.
The Wrangler’s off-road capabilities were highlighted during the “Jeep 101” drive program.
Pat Dougherty, DaimlerChrysler director of fleet operations, was a presenter during the product preview’s business meeting.
