Volkswagen is rolling out six-year or 72,000-mile warranties across most of its vehicle lineup after first introducing the warranties in April on its new 2018 SUVs, including the Atlas and Tiguan.

The limited bumper-to-bumper warranty, which is known as the People First Warranty, is available on all models, except the e-Golf battery-electric compact sedan. The warranties can be transferred to subsequent owners, according to Volkswagen.

The People First Warranty includes powertrain coverage for engines, transmissions, and optional 4Motion all-wheel-drive systems. All elements of the warranty can be transferred to subsequent owners under the terms of the warranty.

The warranty will now be offered with the Beetle, Beetle Convertible, Golf, Golf Alltrack, Golf GTI, Golf R, Golf SportWagen, Jetta and Passat.

For the 2017 model year, Volkswagen offered a three-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty and five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
