Volkswagen will offer its existing Tiguan as a value-based compact SUV known as the Tiguan Limited that will retail for $4,250 less than the new long-wheelbase model, the company has announced.

The 2017 Tiguan Limited will retail for at last $21,995 plus destination fees. It will be available in a single trim grade with a 2.0-liter turbocharged TSI engine that makes 200 horsepower. 

The engine delivers power through a six-speed automatic transmission to either front-wheel or 4Motion all-wheel drive.

The Tiguan is fitted with 16-inch steel wheels, halogen headlights, cloth seating surfaces and door inserts, Composition Color infotainment system with Bluetooth for compatible devices and a rearview camera. Buyers can add 4Motion all-wheel for $1,975

Volkswagen will offer two packages including the Wheel package ($495) and Premium package ($1,295). The Wheel package adds 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, while the Premium package adds the Composition Media infotainment system, which has a 6.33-inch screen and supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. The Composition Media system also includes HD radio, one SD card slot, the ability to sync two phones simultaneously, and a three-month trial to Sirius XM Satellite Radio.

Other features in the Premium package include cruise control, leather multifunction steering wheel, KESSY keyless access with push-button start, cargo cover, and roof rails.
