Subaru Canada, Inc. has won its first-ever Best Retained Value “Overall Brand Award in the Car Category from Canadian Black Book (CBB), according to an announcement from the company.

This, according to Subaru Canada, is the first year that the awards have included a Best Retained ‘Overall Brand’ Award, an award that calculates the average retained value across the produce lines for each OEM in three categories: Car, Truck/SUV, and Luxury.

And, along with receiving the award for overall brand, Subaru’s compact crossover, the Subaru Crosstrek was also awarded a CBB Best Retained Value award in the compact car segment.

"The Canadian Black Book awards recognize vehicles that hold their value and depreciate the least," said Shiro Ohta, chairman, president and CEO of Subaru Canada. "With depreciation being the single greatest cost of vehicle ownership, having the Subaru Crosstrek recognized as a Canadian Black Book Best Retained Value Award winner is proof of the quality and longevity for which Subaru vehicles are known."

This year, the award program analyzed model year 2013 vehicles in 20 different categories. Awards go to vehicles that hold the highest percentage of their original MSRP after four years.
