Connected car and telematics provider Zubie has named Gary Tucker its chief executive officer. Tucker leaves his role as CEO of DealerRater.com, a third-party review site for car buyers to rate associates who work at dealerships.

Tucker replaces Tim Kelly, who left Minneapolis-based Zubie in June. He takes over from interim CEO Prag Shah, who returns to his role as chief operating officer. Zubie sells devices that connect vehicles to the Internet using an OBD II device with built-in Wi-Fi.

Tucker will guide Zubie's efforts to achieve growth among the insurance and fleet sectors of the automotive industry. Zubie is seeking greater scale of its data insights to reach enterprise customers, according to the company.

Tucker guided DealerRater.com during a transitional period after it was acquired by Cars.com in August of 2016. Prior to that, Tucker served as an executive with J.D. Powers & Associates for more than 12 years.
