Volvo Cars has introduced its new Red Key, which activates functions on the vehicle to make sure it driven responsibly by third parties, such as valet parking staff, repair personnel, and younger drivers. 

The Red Key is available with the Volvo S90 saloon, V90 estate and XC90 SUV.

When the car is driven with the Red Key, its top speed is reduced to 75 mph, the Adaptive Cruise Control function is programmed to maintain the maximum distance to the car in front, and the maximum volume from the audio system is reduced. The Red Key also activates a range of safety features, including BLIS (Blind Spot Information System), Lane Keeping Aid, Forward Collision Warning, Driver Alert Control, Distance Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition, according to the automaker

The Red Key is available now to both new buyers and existing owners of Volvo’s 90 series cars, according to the automaker.
