Chevrolet will introduce the Spark Activ, a sporty variant of its subcompact sedan, for the 2017 model year.

Chevrolet is describing the Spark Activ as a "versatile, connected mini-car" that will add trail-inspired accents and several upscale features, such as a rear-view camera system supported by a 7-inch color touchscreen.

Off-road-inspired features include a specific grille pattern, round fog lamps and housings, hatchback cladding, rocker moldings, and roof rails. The vehicle adds heated leatherette seats, and the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Spark Activ is powered by an Ecotec 1.4L inline four-cylinder engine that's paired with a manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT). The manual model will retail for $16,945, while the CVT model will retail for $18,045.

The Spark Activ will go in sale in the first quarter of 2017.
